Why We Help: Dr. Deidre Quinn-Gorham and Tuskegee University

Some people remind us why this work matters.

Dr. Deidre Quinn-Gorham at Tuskegee University is one of them. Her work brings 3D printing into veterinary education, helping students see anatomy, pathology, and animal care in a more physical, practical way.

That mission fits Tuskegee.

The Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine describes its mission around education, research, service, self-directed learning, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, problem solving, ethics, and leadership. It is also the only veterinary medical professional program located on the campus of an HBCU in the United States and has played an outsized role in training African American veterinarians.

JaegerTech has been proud to support Dr. Quinn-Gorham’s efforts over the years. We have provided 3D printer donations, printed anatomical models, and helped with machine repairs when her program needed practical support.

A working printer in a university lab is more than a machine.

It is access. It is possibility. It is a way for students to turn digital ideas into physical understanding.

In veterinary education, that matters. A printed bone or anatomical model can help students hold, examine, compare, and better understand structures they may one day encounter in clinical practice. It gives faculty another way to teach. It gives students another way to learn.

It also supports the kind of applied, hands-on education that has long been part of Tuskegee’s identity: knowledge used in service of people, animals, and communities.

That is why we help universities.

Not just because they need machines, parts, repairs, or technical support. Because inside those programs are people doing the quiet, difficult work of building the future.

People like Dr. Quinn-Gorham inspire us to be better at ours: to make the technology useful, keep it accessible, and help the next generation learn, build, heal, and lead.
