Returns and Refund Policy

Jaeger Technology Group LLC (“Jaeger Technology Group,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides custom manufacturing, industrial 3D printing, prototyping, design, consulting, tooling, fixtures, foundry patterns, short-run production, and related services. Because much of our work is custom, project-specific, or made to order, returns and refunds are limited.

This policy applies to products and services purchased from Jaeger Technology Group unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

Custom Work and Made-to-Order Parts

Most work performed by Jaeger Technology Group is custom or made to order. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • 3D printed parts
  • Prototypes
  • Foundry patterns
  • Core boxes
  • Jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling
  • Custom CAD or design work
  • Engineering or manufacturing consulting
  • Short-run production
  • Modified, repaired, or customer-specific parts
  • Special-order materials or equipment

Because these items are produced for a specific customer, application, file, drawing, design, or requirement, custom work is generally non-returnable and non-refundable once approved, started, produced, shipped, delivered, or otherwise completed.

Customer Approval

Customers are responsible for reviewing quotes, project scopes, drawings, CAD files, specifications, material selections, tolerances, quantities, and other project details before approving work.

Once a quote, deposit, purchase order, written approval, payment, or other authorization is provided, Jaeger Technology Group may begin ordering materials, scheduling machine time, performing design work, preparing files, or producing parts.

After work has begun, cancellations, changes, refunds, or credits are at the sole discretion of Jaeger Technology Group and may be limited by labor, materials, machine time, subcontractor costs, vendor costs, and other expenses already incurred.

Design, Engineering, and Consulting Services

Design, CAD, engineering, project review, troubleshooting, consulting, and related professional services are not returnable after the work has been performed.

Fees for these services cover professional time, review, analysis, communication, documentation, and project work, whether or not the customer later chooses to proceed with production.

Deposits and Progress Payments

Deposits, retainers, setup fees, design fees, engineering fees, rush fees, special-order material costs, and progress payments are generally non-refundable once work has begun or costs have been incurred.

If a project is cancelled before completion, any refund or credit will be determined at our discretion after accounting for completed work, committed labor, ordered materials, machine time, vendor charges, administrative time, and other project expenses.

Defects, Errors, or Workmanship Issues

If you believe there is a problem with an order, contact us promptly after receipt.

We will review reported issues in good faith. If we determine that a part was not produced according to the agreed written specifications, approved file, or project scope, we may, at our discretion, repair the item, rework the item, replace the item, issue a partial credit, or provide another reasonable resolution.

Minor variation in surface finish, layer lines, support marks, material appearance, color, texture, dimensional behavior, or other characteristics common to additive manufacturing may not qualify as a defect.

Customer-Supplied Files, Designs, and Specifications

Jaeger Technology Group is not responsible for errors, omissions, fit issues, performance issues, or design problems caused by customer-supplied files, drawings, specifications, measurements, samples, or assumptions.

If we produce a part according to the customer-provided file, drawing, or approved specification, the order is generally not eligible for return or refund because the part does not fit, function, or perform as expected unless we separately agreed in writing to be responsible for that design outcome.

Materials and Application Suitability

We may provide material suggestions based on available information, but the customer is responsible for confirming that a selected material, process, or design is suitable for the customer’s final application unless a separate written engineering agreement states otherwise.

Material behavior can vary based on geometry, environment, load, temperature, chemicals, UV exposure, wear, installation, post-processing, and use conditions.

Shipping Damage

If an item appears damaged in shipping, notify us promptly and retain the packaging, photographs, labels, and damaged item.

Shipping damage claims may require inspection by the carrier. Resolution may depend on carrier rules, insurance coverage, packaging condition, and whether the shipment used our carrier account or the customer’s shipping account.

Returns Requiring Authorization

Do not return any item without written authorization from Jaeger Technology Group.

Unauthorized returns may be refused, returned to sender, or discarded if not claimed. Approved returns must be packaged properly and shipped according to our instructions.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

Standard Products or Resale Items

If Jaeger Technology Group sells a standard, non-custom product, equipment item, material, accessory, or resale item, returns may be handled differently from custom work.

Any return, exchange, warranty claim, or refund for standard products may be subject to manufacturer policies, vendor policies, restocking fees, condition of the item, packaging requirements, and prior written approval.

Special-order, opened, used, installed, modified, or damaged items may not be eligible for return.

Project Delays and Shipping Timing

We make reasonable efforts to meet estimated timelines, but lead times may be affected by design review, customer approvals, material availability, machine availability, vendor delays, production issues, post-processing, shipping delays, or other factors.

If an order is subject to online, phone, or mail-order shipment requirements and we cannot ship within the promised time, we will handle the delay, customer consent, cancellation, or refund as required by applicable law. The FTC’s Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule requires sellers to have a reasonable basis for advertised shipping times and to obtain consent for certain delays or provide refunds when required.

No Guarantee of Fitness Unless Stated in Writing

Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, Jaeger Technology Group does not guarantee that a custom part, prototype, design, material, or process will be suitable for a specific commercial, industrial, medical, regulatory, safety-critical, or end-use application.

Prototypes and development parts are often experimental and may require testing, revision, validation, or redesign.

How to Request Review of an Issue

To request review of a problem, contact us with:

  • Order or project name
  • Description of the issue
  • Photographs
  • Relevant measurements
  • Date received
  • How the item was used or inspected
  • Any packaging or shipping damage information

We will review the issue and determine whether repair, rework, replacement, credit, or another resolution is appropriate.
