3D Printer, Equipment, and Machine Sales Return Policy

Jaeger Technology Group LLC (“Jaeger Technology Group,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) sells, supports, and may assist with setup, configuration, delivery, installation, training, or service of 3D printers, large-format 3D printers, equipment, accessories, parts, and related systems.
Because 3D printers and industrial equipment are specialized products that may be special-ordered, freight-shipped, configured, installed, tested, or used with consumable materials, returns are limited and must be approved in writing before any item is returned.
This policy applies to 3D printers, equipment, accessories, replacement parts, service parts, and related items unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
All Sales Are Subject to Written Terms
All equipment sales are subject to the quote, invoice, purchase order, manufacturer terms, warranty terms, and any written agreement between the customer and Jaeger Technology Group.
By placing an order, paying an invoice, issuing a purchase order, or accepting delivery, the customer agrees to this policy unless different terms are agreed to in writing.
Special Orders and Custom-Configured Equipment
Many 3D printers, large-format printers, industrial machines, accessories, upgrade kits, materials, and service parts are special-order or project-specific items.
Special-order, custom-configured, modified, installed, used, opened, assembled, calibrated, tested, or customer-specific equipment is generally non-returnable and non-refundable unless otherwise required by law or approved by Jaeger Technology Group in writing.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- 3D printers
- Large-format 3D printers
- Industrial additive manufacturing equipment
- Printer upgrade kits
- Hotends, extruders, controllers, boards, wiring, sensors, and motion components
- Filament dryers, enclosures, drying systems, and accessories
- Special-order materials, consumables, and spare parts
- Equipment ordered specifically for a customer
- Equipment that has been assembled, powered on, installed, configured, calibrated, modified, or used
Return Authorization Required
No equipment, printer, part, accessory, or material may be returned without prior written authorization from Jaeger Technology Group.
Unauthorized returns may be refused, returned to sender, or held pending customer pickup or shipping instructions. The customer is responsible for all costs associated with unauthorized returns.
Approved returns must be shipped according to our instructions, in appropriate packaging, with all accessories, manuals, cables, tools, and original materials included.
Return Window
If a return is approved, the customer must request return authorization within 7 calendar days of delivery unless a different return period is stated in writing.
Approval of a return request does not guarantee a refund. Returned items must be received, inspected, and accepted before any refund or credit is issued.
Restocking Fee
Approved returns may be subject to a restocking fee.
For 3D printers, equipment, machines, accessories, parts, and related items, the restocking fee may be up to the maximum amount permitted by applicable law. Where permitted, Jaeger Technology Group may charge a restocking fee of not less than 25% of the purchase price for approved returns.
For opened, inspected, assembled, tested, configured, installed, used, freight-shipped, special-order, or customer-specific equipment, the restocking fee may be 35% or higher where permitted by law and where necessary to account for diminished value, vendor charges, inspection, repackaging, missing items, administrative handling, freight handling, or other documented costs.
Alabama tax rules recognize situations where returned merchandise may be refunded only in part because a restocking fee is charged, although the tax treatment of the sale may still include the full sales price.
Non-Refundable Charges
The following charges are generally non-refundable once incurred:
- Shipping
- Freight
- Crating
- Packing
- Insurance
- Delivery charges
- Installation
- Setup
- Calibration
- Training
- Travel
- Service calls
- Configuration work
- Consulting
- Credit card or payment processing fees where permitted by law
- Special-order vendor charges
- Consumables, opened materials, or used materials
Condition of Returned Equipment
Returned equipment must be in new, unused, undamaged, complete, and resalable condition unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Refunds or credits may be reduced or denied for:
- Missing accessories, tools, parts, cables, manuals, or packaging
- Damage during return shipping
- Improper repackaging
- Signs of use
- Material residue
- Filament jams or resin contamination
- Scratched, worn, altered, or modified components
- Firmware changes or unauthorized modifications
- Improper assembly, operation, maintenance, or calibration
- Equipment that cannot be resold as new
Customer Responsibility for Return Shipping
Unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing, the customer is responsible for all return shipping, freight, crating, packaging, insurance, and handling costs.
Returned equipment must be insured for its full value. The customer is responsible for loss or damage during return shipment.
For freight items, the customer must follow carrier and packaging instructions. Large-format printers and industrial equipment may require palletizing, crating, liftgate service, freight scheduling, or commercial dock access.
Freight Delivery Inspection
Customers are responsible for inspecting shipments at delivery.
For freight deliveries, inspect the shipment before signing the delivery receipt whenever possible. Note visible damage, missing items, crushed packaging, punctures, tilt indicators, shock indicators, or other concerns on the carrier paperwork.
If damage is discovered, retain all packaging, take photographs, and notify Jaeger Technology Group promptly. Freight claims may be limited or denied if damage is not documented at delivery.
Manufacturer Warranty
3D printers, equipment, accessories, and parts may be covered by manufacturer warranties. Warranty coverage is controlled by the manufacturer’s warranty terms unless Jaeger Technology Group provides a separate written warranty.
A manufacturer warranty does not automatically create a right to return equipment for refund.
Warranty remedies may include troubleshooting, replacement parts, repair, manufacturer service, or other remedies defined by the manufacturer.
No Return for Buyer’s Remorse or Changed Requirements
Approved equipment orders are not generally refundable due to buyer’s remorse, changed business plans, lack of facility readiness, insufficient staffing, software preference, material preference, customer skill level, inability to operate the equipment, or changed production requirements.
Customers are responsible for confirming that equipment is suitable for their intended use before purchasing.
Suitability and Application Responsibility
Jaeger Technology Group may provide guidance regarding printer selection, materials, workflows, setup, or applications. However, unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, the customer is responsible for determining whether a printer, accessory, material, or workflow is suitable for the customer’s specific application, facility, production requirement, safety requirement, regulatory requirement, or business use.
Consumables and Materials
Opened, used, expired, contaminated, damaged, special-order, or improperly stored materials and consumables are generally non-returnable.
This may include filament, resin, build surfaces, adhesives, nozzles, FEP/PFA films, filters, cleaning materials, and other consumables.
Order Cancellations
Orders may not be cancelled after equipment has been ordered from a vendor, manufacturer, distributor, or freight provider unless Jaeger Technology Group agrees in writing.
If cancellation is approved, the customer may be responsible for vendor cancellation fees, freight charges, restocking fees, payment processing fees, administrative costs, and any other costs already incurred.
Shipping Delays and Availability
We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate lead times, but availability and shipping may be affected by manufacturer delays, freight schedules, customs, tariffs, supply-chain issues, weather, carrier delays, backorders, or other circumstances beyond our control.
For orders placed by internet, phone, or mail, federal rules require sellers to have a reasonable basis for promised shipping times. If no specific shipping time is promised, the FTC rule generally requires shipment within 30 days or appropriate delay notice, consent, cancellation, or refund handling when required.
Refund Method and Timing
If a refund or credit is approved, it will generally be issued using the original payment method or as account credit, at our discretion and subject to applicable law.
Refunds are issued only after the returned item has been received, inspected, and accepted. Deductions may apply for restocking fees, shipping, freight, damage, missing items, payment processing fees where permitted, vendor charges, and other non-refundable costs.
Defective or Incorrect Items
If you believe you received a defective or incorrect item, contact Jaeger Technology Group promptly with photographs, serial numbers, order information, and a description of the issue.
We will review the issue and determine whether the matter should be handled through manufacturer warranty, replacement part support, repair, exchange, credit, or another appropriate remedy.
Do not ship equipment back without written authorization.
